Question about a virus scanner..

My computer has pc-cillian installed on it. It just pops up and starts to scan automatically every so often. Is it suppose to do that or am I clicking on a 'bad' site and prompting it to scan?

I'm not familiar with that scanner, but most are scheduled to run automatically. You may be able to change the settings to run when you are not busy doing something else.

Thank you.. Im not sure.. The guy who built the computer for me installed all the stuff and he didnt leave any details about them in the computer information file he left for me.

If it checks your whole disk every so often I'd say it was supposed to do that - if you'd click on a virus-infected file or visited a website with a virus or sth on it it would probably just display an alarm about it and show you your options about what to do (block the site,...).
But since I don't use that AV I can't really say for sure.
