One of my co-workers told us today that she'll be getting married this Friday. She is near sixty. She has been living apart from the father of her youngest son for 15 years. He is from Nigeria. They have been married before and had their son, but then he went back to Nigeria for some reason and they wouldn't let him come back to Germany. Either the officials here or in Nigeria wouldn't allow it. At some point they decided to get a divorce because it was too difficult for them. Well I don't know all the details. Then last year he managed to come here for the graduation of his now 18 year old son.
When he stayed with my co-worker, they discovered they still want to be together. I know how hard it was for her when he had to go back to Nigeria after his visit. But after fighting another battle with the officials, he now came back for good and they're getting married again and this time he can stay. For fifteen years they have been apart and their love never faded. This story made my day and I am so happy for her. When she told us today we all had tears in our eyes.
