I was thinking of starting a thread like this in Politics and current affairs.
I was looking along the lines of linking articles etc about women in the world, news that generally doesn't hit the headlines such as the situation of women in Sudan etc.
The reason I have picked to just do women is that this is an area that interests myself and hopefully others. It is not just aimed at women, I hope the guys would fined it interesting also.
Just wanted to put this idea out there. :)

I like the idea Claire and could prove informative and popular.

One thought that i have is rather than starting it in Politics and current affairs ( i personally have no objection to it going there if that is what you wish) but have you thought about creating it as a journal, that way the information will not be interrupted by posts and members can still comment by replying in the journal comments section.

Its a great idea Claire, and I would be interested in reading and also contributing. But if you choose a journal format does that mean I could only comment and not contribute?

After seeing Louise's post (thanks Louise, forgot about that) perhaps the journal idea is not the best idea afterall, as this would restrict others who would also like to contribute to the thread/topic

I like this idea of yours Claire, I think it will do really well on here, mainly because the majority of members on here are female, but how about this, instead of it been just one thread, how about a separate forum, like a subforum, and maybe we can add a mens part later.
