I hate where I live right now. Its on top of this dreadful hill. When it rains its so muddy that I have to stay inside until it clears up because Im so horribly clumbsy. Also when it ices over in the winter I stay inside unless I just have to leave and then I normally need half carried off the hill... Its not bad in the snow because at least the snow provides a little something under my feet... Also this place is falling apart... My back door is just hangning there so we built a temp removable wall over it.. My screen door in the front almost fell of its hinges too.. Another thing I hate is when the wind blows really hard sometimes my windows fall off :( I cant see putting any money into this place because I should be out of it soon...

I'm 50/50 about my neighbourhood. There's no sidewalks, street lights and I certainly don't feel safe running at night, also we're right off a busy street and people drive so fast down it too. Not enough cross walks either for my liking. I would like to move to a nice gated community. If only.

I bet I would love where you live. I think West Virginia is so pretty. I have family that lives in Ky near the WV state line. I love where I love where I live. It could warm up a little faster and my house could be a little bigger but Im content with every thing. Im married to a handy man so that helps. We just built a gazebo that I adore. I love it out side.:-D

I like where I live now. It's a nice house, and we have a garden which is great to sit in during the summer. The neighbours are okay, and the road isn't too busy.

I'm 10 minutes away from the city center where all the shops are by bycycle, and about 10 minutes on foot from one edge of a big forest where I like to go running or walking in summer. I only have to cross the road to get on a safe bicycle/pedestrian path that leads to the train station on one side (10 minutes on my bicycle) and I don't know where on the other side - I've walked far on it already, but never followed it all the way to the end.

So I like this house and where it's situated. :)

I moved here a few months ago and it's not too bad. The house is bigger than my other one and the garden is a fair size too. The thing I hate about it is the hundreds of dogs all around the neighbourhood! They howl and bark all night long!! My dog knows better than to do that :-p

I don't live in a house, I live in a one room apartment - one tiny room, an even smaller bathroom and a kitchen. The radiator is broken so I have no heat, the electrical wiring is messed up somehow, sometimes I have mud or whatever it is coming out of the faucets, and particularly the kitchen is invaded by spiders. And on top of that, I live in a "dead" town surrounded by closeminded people. So, no - I don't like it here.

Actually I dont live in a house either... Its not an apartment either.. So when I call it by its name most people have no idea what Im talking about - expecially the ones from another country...

I love where I live but unfortunately its not ours its just rented.

When we had to move here, (its a bit of a long story but briefly, we had our own house and my husband had a taxi business which we lost due to financial difficulties when my husband became ill) We only had two choices of houses, this one looked the best but my family said I would hate it.

I dont though, I love it here even more than the house we owned previously!
Just wish it was our own.

We live in a 2 bed bungalow, which is nice, but it's far too small since our son came along - and I hate the village where we live aswell, we're surrounded by old people, not that I have anything against them, but I need to be around people my own age, there are no children here and it's very isolating for me and my son, we're trying for a transfer - no luck in 18 months so far :(

I live in a tiny one bedroom house, its very cute, however its tooooo small for Kenny and me and the 2 cats. We are hoping to move within the next year fingers crossed and hopefully we will be able to afford a 3 bedroom house.

I will like our place a lot more when it has been renovated. The area is convenient for all transport and facilities and it is still a better part of London. However, like most of London it is degenerating, so I would like to move elsewhere in the not too distant future.

My house is a 3 bedroomed victorian terrace. It is ok but requires cash spent on it, the windows are fairly rotten and damp is evident, it is however home.

The town I live in is currently undergoing major regenration. The DLR is being extended ready for the Olympics, the local council think this willl make our area more affluent. There is alot of poverty in our town, our shops are run down and cheap, we don't have any decent restaurants or a cinema. We have one tatty nightclub and a leisure centre. Years ago it was a thriving town with a lot of employment created from the docks. Since the docks have ceased to be what they were, with goods transported by road instead of on the rivers London has suffered. Most of the waterway traffic is now just pleasure trips up the Thames. Its a shame :(

I live in a detached house on asingle track lane just before a farm whose tractors race up and down the lane! Have no front garden as am right up to the edge of the road, have a huge back garden with fruit trees, greenhouses, sheds, and a garage plus too much grass!

I do love it here!!!!

Back in the day the small town I live in was booming.. We had our own hotel, our own restaurant, and yeah we even had a house of ill reput (not so proud of that one though!). It use to be a big oil production town.. That was way before my time though.. My dad can remember throwing a football over the wall to the prisoners at the old prison...

I like my house - it's a three-bedroomed end terrace. The area we live in is quite nice (at the moment) but I've seen areas closer to the centre of town go downhill and I fear it's working its way out towards us! I'd love to pick up my house and garden and plonk it in the country somewhere lol.
The other thing is our third bedroom is quite small. I fear my 14 year old son, who's already taller than me (5'8") will soon be outgrowing it :-o If my house had room to extend and was in the countryside I'd be happier

I live in a three bed end of terrace as well, in the suburbs of Southampton.
It's a quiet area on the side of a wood. The whole area is designated an area of special scientific interest, which means no more building or tree felling (Good eh, Hippy?), the downside being if we found a roman coin or something ancient (there was an ancient settlement nearby) they can come and dig up our garden. I love living here because my younger kids can walk the quarter mile to school without crossing one road, and the nearest pub is a mile away so we don't really get drunks. We moved here to give our (then) two kids a room each, but then little Harry came along so now the girls have to share, but we gave them the biggest room so it isn't that cramped for them. The whole place could do with some tlc but that is because of cashflow from recent events (see blog!) Otherwise I want to retire here!

I love where we live now. We've lived in a roach infested 1 bed apartment with no A/C and a broken heater, then a 2 bedroom apartment, then we bought a 80 yr old house that was falling apart, then we sold our house, bought an RV and travelled full time around the country for 6 yrs living in camprounds and RV parks all over the country looking for where we wanted to settle down and spend the rest of our lives, then bought a mobile home in an RV resort, and now live in a really nice 1/4 million dollar home in a high end community. But we would never be where we are today if we hadn't of gritted our teeth and gone for it, and reached out for something new, something we really wanted, as scary, intimidating and unsure as it was at the time.

To those who hate where they live now, I would just say that even though it may seem scary or hard to move or go some place new, it is well worth the trouble and effort and hardship. You will be surprised at the oppertunities that open for you if you take the chance and try something new if you're unhappy where you are. New jobs, new friends, and new places are something that will be exciting and really lift your spirits. I really believe that if you don't like where you are, then get the heck out of there and go somewhere else. And don't stop till you find somewhere you like and are happy.

Even though we only rent it, I love our flat! If we had the money we'd buy it. It's a 2 bedroom flat the size of a small house. Nice big kitchen, small dining room, large lounge room and the bedrooms are good sizes. The only complaint I have is the exposed brick walls. If it were ours, I'd render them or something like that, and the bathtub is too small but the shower is so lovely :)
But my favourite thing is our front verandah, it's massive!

I love the house we in, 3 bedrooms, large sitting area, tv room,3 bathrooms, yet the kitchen is my paradise.. it is HUGE. Two flatlets on the back property. My little work room is out back.
We don't have a big front yard, it is paved out. With small patches for my plants. Six bay car port, so space is not too bad.. now just to get rid of a few bad apples in the street, I could say I live in paradise..lol.

We live in a small one bedroomed Scottish tenament from the Victorian era :-D
I love it because it is ours, we own it and is the first house I have bought!
My neighbours are good aswell, we pop into each others homes all the time.
It is big enough for myself, Michael and fatcat.

Well now that we are away from the tourists area it is great I love were we live it is very nice quite and has a great view of the volcano and a great beach only 4 Min's walk down the road.
Although we only rent it, it has 3 bedrooms a big kitchen and livingroom also a big basement were we have the office and a garage.
Best of all we have a garden for me and the dog, also we are only 10 Min's away from the tourist places in a car.

The only complaint I have is the bloody tree in the garden and all the leaves it drops everywhere so annoying.

I love the neighbourhood...it is quiet and barely any traffic. It is on a bus route tho,but thats conviniant, seeing as I don't drive. The neighbours are friendly and helpful and there are no noisey kids in the area. The few kids in the area are quiet.

As for the house,I hate it,yet love it at the same time.It is 3 bedrooms, kitchen, bathroom, large living room and lots of storage and is a good size.It is also cheap ($475 a month...heat/light is included!!!).However it is an old house and there has been paranormal activity here and well I just don't like the layout here anymore.I been here since August 2007 and kinda got bored with this place. But I am not willing to move anytime soon, since I have a sweet deal! :)

I love the flat I live in, it's furnished and its at the top of the apartment block so I only get noise from the side and downstairs rather than upstairs too. The area isn't too bad, can get a bit rowdy at night but there isn't many places round here that aren't like that now.

our house isn't so bad. it's big enough for the 2 of us. i don't like that it's a terraced house and i dont think the area is pretty but it does us for now. i wouldn't want to bring up a family just here though.

No, i don't. The area is okay though it is a long way from where i work.

Initially i thought i could start repairing the place and make it a little nicer but instead it seem that i spent my time keeping it from falling apart more, instead of improving.

Yes I swear she thinks that she is a dog when I go to the shops she comes for a walk always waits at the concer and then comes back with me.

LOL We tend to think of our male tabby as part dog since he has a tendency to wait in the drive for us until we come home when we take the car anyplace.

I like our apartment. It's nice, has its own washer and dryer and its own little front and backyard. Wish it had a dishwasher too (oh well). We live close to the university and there were a couple of years where our neighbors to the north and west were drunken sods on the weekend (no -- I really don't want to hear you croon your version of famous Clash songs at the top of your lungs at 3AM or listen to your stereo blasting on the porch at 4AM, thanks), but the university has cracked down on conduct like that, from what I understand. Anyways, I think for two people and two cats its a cozy, nice place.

I like my apartment for the most part and the area that I live in. Its pretty safe. They cracked down on all the parties and noise that they made by only having 4 spots for overnight parking. So its a lot more peaceful out here now. And not so loud. My apartment is pretty nice size for a 1 bedroom. I just wish I had my own yard. Thats the only thing. Then I can decorate and plant all I want. But I can't here since its the manager's property.

Even though I may have my issues about this place, on the whole I'd have to say I like it. I love where it is on this block of land, I love the vintage & homely feel. I love how no space was wasted when they made it.

i hate the house we live in. never liked it. my husband wanted to move back to the town he grew up(we moved away for 8 yrs ago from this boring town) and get into his fathers company. so we bought a cheap old house. all we could afford.
hopefully we'll be able to buy something else in 5-7 yrs.
we even have the neighbours from hell. they have even come on our door treatning to beat my husband up, because we are so "cruel" and park our cars in our OWN driveway.

I don`t like the house I live in although am grateful for the roof overhead.
It is a old farmhouse built in the 1800s and is in need of a lot of repairs.

Well ya know that is what I like about the US East coast as apposed to some places here in Texas and most of what I have seen in California, where a lot of the older properties are torn down and replaced ..... how much nicer to restore and keep some history if you can.... :shy: I know, I'm sentimental ... I'll slink off now.......

Actually I'm kinda contradicting myself anyway, because I prefer to live in 'up to date' properties myself. This house was brand new when we moved in.
Texas properties are really good value compared to a lot of States, but our property taxes are very expensive ... however we don't pay state income tax. Swings and roundabouts.

The recent economic woes, brought about by the greed of unbridled capitalism and the consequent collapse of the property market here in the UK, means that we will probably stay put a while longer.

On the bright side, at least the interior renovations are going well and the apartment is beginning to look very nice. We are luckier than many people these days, who are doubtless having sleepless nights over paying their mortgage, losing their jobs or simply paying their bills. It must also be horrible for those who now find themselves in negative equity, whereby their home is worth less than the mortgage on it.

Well, this was supposed to be our starter house. It's small, 2 bedrooms 1 bath, and it's older. I would like to move to a new house with a 2 car garage and 2 bathrooms and a finished basement. Well, at least our mortgage is paid off. Maybe someday we will have a new house.

the house I live in bak home with my family - I love it. From the outside it's kind of ugly, I don't like the facade at all, but I live the inside, especially after the changes we did sine we moved in (mostly change of floors and wallpapers, but also a complete makeover of the bathrooms). My favourite part is the ground floor with an entrance which is not partiularly broad, but with a high ceiling, and tightly connected with the living and dining rooms.

The flat I live in now, I can bet it's vey nice when fully furnished, and freshened up. Now it's pretty dull. The floor's very nice though.

Tomorrow I'm moving to my friend's room which is one of the cosiest on earth, much thanks to the oldfriendly furniture.

soon after that I'll move again. I have no idea what the next place looks like

Hihi, I moved again so now I can tell. The flat is.. ok, I wish there was a door to my room (since I share the flat with the most annoying guy on earth).. and with new wallpapers the place could be really fresh. The kitchen is really strangely shaped, too.. like a hallway more than an actual room.
