Yet another government smoke screen. Immigration in this country is out of control and this government would far rather 'fiddle while Rome burns' than really get to grips with the situation.

What we really need I feel is a complete halt to non EU migrants with the probable exception of the nations of the Old Commonwealth, namely Canada, Australia and New Zealand.

We need to strictly limit the migrants from the new EU states and if that involves leaving the EU, then so much the better.

Then we need to get to grips with all the illegals in this country and repatriate them to whence they came. That will be a task in itself given the huge numbers here.

We need to put the brakes on accepting any more asylum seekers - there are plenty of other countries around trhe world who can pull their weight for a change. We should also look at those who have already been given asylum and look again at their original claims.

In essence, we need to sort the whole bloody mess out and secure our borders.

Never going to happen, Mark old boy. After all what would be the point in the final article of the Singapore Treaty if we were to only invite three of the 49 nations to the party?

If one believes in the Commonwealth one cannot believe in it selectively.

"These relationships we intend to foster and extend, for we believe that our multi-national association can expand human understanding and understanding among nations, assist in the elimination of discrimination based on differences of race, colour or creed, maintain and strengthen personal liberty, contribute to the enrichment of life for all, and provide a powerful influence for peace among nations."
