I wanted to start a thread to talk about iso-chronic tones and mediation.

For those that aren't familar with what iso-chronic tones are, I'll go over it briefly. They are tones that are designed to stimulate the brain. Depending on the frequency and amplitude of the tone, different tones can help induce different states of being by the brain responding to the different sounds through repetition and concentration.

There's a bunch of websites out there that try to sell sound packs, etc. I've found one that has quite a lot for free, they accept donations so maybe if you enjoy them throw a little something their way for the effort.

I have a few on my ipod and like to use ear buds while meditating, they can be played through a speaker system but I like to block the outside noise out.

They defintely do work if you remain focused and can meditate well, and if not just practice because I wasn't great at it either. But after a few honest attempts and a couple of days the next time you do it you'll notice yourself in a very relaxed state where your eyelids are truly resting--so relaxed in fact you almost have trouble raising them, it's quite awesome.

I really enjoy "Theta 432" and the "ESP" tone. While using the ESP tone I felt an occasional cold sensation that would eminate while mediating, really relaxing and refreshing.

I thought it'd be something people might be interested in. Anyone tried them before while meditating? Post the ones you've tried or want to try. Tips or the way you meditate are welcome too.
