Could we reduced the maximum size of pic/photos that are allowed to be displayed on the forum, because I found one example of 1556x1054, I personally think this is too large, and make the page you are displaying too wide, I think 800x600 is most suitable for the maximum, what do you think? I do think we need to have a limit to the maximum size of photos that are allowed to be displayed for the benefit of the forum.

Yes I agree, the thread in question in Fun and Games was stretched really wide, so I had to resize the pictures and post them back on ..

I agree with Kenny, some of the photos stretch the board as it were

We either used photobucket or Irfanview, both are really simple to used :)

I agree. Also it's not difficult to post a clickable thumbnail so that only those that want to see the large pic need do so.

I fully agree .... we need to have a sensible size ..... 800x600 should be more than enough.

I usually let Imageshack resize my images when I upload them - the size they suggest for message boards is 640 x 480. For most pics that is big enough I think.

yes, for our poor users who have dial-up, the big pics can cause big delays.

I agree. 800x600 Is a good max, On photobucket there is a upload size for message boards, I think it is about 600x400...something like that. That way you can upload photos in that size.

Yes 640x480 should be the max size :)

I've had a look around and I don't think you can automatically resize images from secondary websites.
it is however possible if you use it as attachment.

It would be great if the board would auto size photos (I know some web sites do that) as computer stupids (like myself) have no idea how to resize the photos theirselves and for those of us who dont have high dollar computers some of the downloads to do that dont work properly..... Sorry if thats impossible but its just a suggestion (im shy of making suggestions....dont want anyone to get all angry with me).

Don't be afraid to play around with sizing photos or anything else to do with Computers, it the only way I ever learn't about computers, and 8 years ago, I had no idea about windows or how to used a mouse, now I build and upgrade pc's, you should try Irfanview, it a good tool for imaging and it easy to re size photos, or you could do it through photobucket, where you can select what ever size you want your photos to be :)

If something goes wrong I have to call my uncle (whos an ammature computer builder) and if he has no idea I call up the local tech (who build the system Im using now). I can turn on the computer, connect to the internet, browse the web, and use my msn, and thats about it.. My old computer was so limited I didnt learn much...

Thanks Kenny... I have a photobucket account but its been ages since I have visited it. Its been a while since I have had a digital camera so I havent updated my photos there in a long time.. I will have to go back and check that out when I need a photo resized, thanks.

Yes when you do get the time, you have 2 option of uploading photos, one is from your pc and other is from a url, and next to it, you see a option of selecting the size you want, one this is save, you can upload as many photos as you like, as the code for displaying on the forum will already bee done for you, if you get stuck, just pm me :)
