In less than 14 days, euro 2008 is starting in Austria/Switzerland.
So who's watching?
Who has the best team?

Personally, I think Portugal stands a fair chance.

Seeing that you supported South Africa in the rugby world cup and we won, I am backing your team all the way...Besides I have always been a fan of the old Germany team with Rudi Voller, Jurgen Klinsman, Lothar Matthaus and Thomas Habler etc. Germany to win!

Michelle

I am looking forward to it, but I guess I will support Germany being half German :)

Big competitions usually for "big guy"; in my opinion it will end finally in France, Germany or Italy; if not then Holland, Spain or Portugal; other teams "should" be satisfied with playing in the shadow.

Personally, I'll cheer for Holland and Russia :-D

match still been played but looks like a shock is instored as Germany are currently losing to Croatia by 2 goals to nil

Brenda
12-06-2008, 20:34
Germany played awful today.

Jansen played like it was the first time ever that he touched a football.
Klose was invisible and Ballack couldn't do anything but arguing with the ref.

a disappointing 2-1

Austria - Poland is currently still going on, it's a very slow game. *yawn*
0-1

Michelle
12-06-2008, 20:36

Yeah, a goal in the final minute, that's just brilliant.
I wonder who could have expected that?

Anja
12-06-2008, 21:06
So Germany needs a win or a tie on Monday to get to the next round. I hope they'll give a better performance then.

TheBlueSky
13-06-2008, 11:12
I think the first round of group stage wasn't really that good; just Portugal, Holland and Spain showed some quality play, but that was maybe because it's the first game only, however, the start of the seconed was much better; Portugal and Czeck was a good game, the unfortunate Switzerland also played will, Croatia deserved their win very much and Austria wasn't bad at all.

Anyway, Holland and Spain may need to play another game with the same quality if they want to prove they are there to do something, and Italy, France and Germany should watch their back before it's too late.

Today it's what could be Italy's last chance against Romania, and a big game between Holland and France... Go Oranje! :)

Anja
13-06-2008, 13:18
Go Oranje! :)

Brenda
13-06-2008, 19:03
Italy disappointed again 1-1 against Romania.

Brenda
14-06-2008, 05:09
They sure are Dave 4-1!

They're the 3rd country that will go through to the quarter finals, they'll get a team from Group D, I wonder how they'll do against Spain or so!

Brenda
15-06-2008, 07:07
Sweden - Spain 1-2

Greece - Russia 0-1

The champion of the last European championship is now officially out of the running! :-o

TheBlueSky
15-06-2008, 18:50
Holland rocks this time; it seems like Van Basten finally found the recipe of winning, but they should be more careful in the back :)

Tonight Turkey and Czech will play for the second position of group A; I would like to see penalty-shootout; I don't know why but it's something unusual to see in the groups stage and I think it'll be fun :-p

Anja
16-06-2008, 15:10
Tonight is our last chance to reach the next round.

Anja
19-06-2008, 19:14
I can't believe it!!! 20 minutes in to the game we're already in the lead with two goals!! Who would have thought???

Well they can still turn the game around quite easily. Right now they're still shocked, I guess, but I'm sure in the second half they'll make up for it.

Kenny
19-06-2008, 19:43
This is a great game for the neutral :-p 2 great goals by Germany, although Portugal has just pull one back, looks like we have a great second half to look forward to ;)

Brenda
22-06-2008, 17:48
The Netherlands were pretty weak last night.
Van Basten left his best player on the sideline and he didn't even bring him in.
He also knew that Engelaar hadn't done anything but mess things up and yet, he was part of the team!

To be honest, Russia was great last night.
They played their best game ever!

Brenda
23-06-2008, 18:51
Spain won with penalties last night, not a very exciting game.

Anja
25-06-2008, 13:50
